We’ve been seeing new trends when it comes to personalizing your big day. We talked to our friends over at Destination I Do and Destination Weddings & Honeymoons and they agreed! In the hundreds of beautiful weddings crossing their desks, these editors are also seeing loads of personal touches and unique, storytelling details.
“Couples are doing a fantastic job of making sure their wedding celebrations reflect their personal style,” says Jennifer Stein, founder and editor-in-chief of Destination I Do. “From the stationery and music to the destination and decor, we are seeing an abundant variety in wedding events. As an editor, it’s refreshing to see couples embracing their uniqueness and even better, companies coming to the table with products which cater to this.”

“As destination weddings tend to be more intimate by nature, we’ve seen some couples seating all their guests at one long table,” says Erika Hueneke, executive editor at Destination Weddings & Honeymoons. “The smaller guest list also allows our couples to do something special for each guest, like individually themed welcome bags or a hand-written note at each place setting. Our couples also put their mark on their events by playing up their destination — a Day of the Dead cake topper in Mexico, limoncello favors in Italy, or a ukulele player to serenade guests during a cocktail hour in Hawaii.”
