Your Wedding, Your Way

We’ve been seeing new trends when it comes to personalizing your big day. We talked to our friends over at Destination I Do and Destination Weddings & Honeymoons and they agreed! In the hundreds of beautiful weddings crossing their desks, these editors are also seeing loads of personal touches and unique, storytelling details.

“Couples are doing a fantastic job of making sure their wedding celebrations reflect their personal style,” says Jennifer Stein, founder and editor-in-chief of Destination I Do. “From the stationery and music to the destination and decor, we are seeing an abundant variety in wedding events. As an editor, it’s refreshing to see couples embracing their uniqueness and even better, companies coming to the table with products which cater to this.”

“As destination weddings tend to be more intimate by nature, we’ve seen some couples seating all their guests at one long table,” says Erika Hueneke, executive editor at Destination Weddings & Honeymoons. “The smaller guest list also allows our couples to do something special for each guest, like individually themed welcome bags or a hand-written note at each place setting. Our couples also put their mark on their events by playing up their destination — a Day of the Dead cake topper in Mexico, limoncello favors in Italy, or a ukulele player to serenade guests during a cocktail hour in Hawaii.”

At Wedding Paper Divas, we are also seeing an increase in extensive personalization of every aspect of the wedding. From adding ribbon, belly bands and photo envelope liners to invitations to creating a truly custom design with our Professional Printing Service – it’s now easier than ever to add your own style and personality to your wedding stationery.

Style Swoon: Floral Kimono Robes

We love the growing tradition of “getting ready” robes. Not only are they wonderful (and incredibly practical) bridesmaids gifts, but they create stunning and memorable pre-wedding photos as well. We are completely swooning over these stunning garden-inspired kimono robes that we found on Plum Pretty Sugar. We can’t get enough of the intricate floral details and lovely petal hues. Which design would you choose?

Rant or Rave: Marriage + Karaoke= Marryoke

Every couple wants to add memorable touches to their wedding to make their day the best ever. Some choose a choreographed dance or a sparkler send off. But the newest craze? Marryoke. It’s lip-synced karaoke that a videographer turns into your very own wedding music video. Check out the Washington Post article (that dubs it as “the new cheesy wedding trend”) to read more about it.

Sound like fun or a new fad that will fade in a season? Is this something you would consider for your wedding? Rant or rave!

Rant or Rave: Boots and Wedding Dresses

Weddings are becoming more and more about showing your personal style—as traditional or offbeat as that may be. For some that carries through to the decor and the colors, others bring that idea into their clothing too. Cowboy boots and rain boots are always a popular footwear choice.

Are you all about the funky style and twist on tradition that boots bring to the wedding dress? Or are you in favor of a stunning pair of heels to add to the glamour of the big day? Rant or Rave!
