Real Wedding: Keiko & Ray

Today’s Real Wedding features the lovely couple Keiko and Ray who were married at The Castaway in Burbank, CA. Since the groom is allergic to flowers, his sister came up with the idea of using paper flowers. Every flower was made from paper including the centerpieces, gazebo, corsages, bouquets, and reception table decor. The main flower is called a Kusudama and it involves folding 5 pieces of paper into petals, gluing the petals together and then gluing the flowers to the branches or the foam balls. The main centerpieces also included paper butterflies, for a total of 622 paper flowers and 123 paper butterflies.

Real Wedding: Amanda & Jon

This week’s Real Wedding is the beautiful celebration of Amanda and Jon, that took place at The Arboretum at Penn State in State College, PA. The couple met at Penn State and are huge Penn State football fans, so they chose to have the wedding ceremony on campus. The Love theme was also incorporated into the ceremony as the couple were engaged at Love Park in Philadelphia.

Real Winter Wedding: Megan & Tommy – Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe

This week’s Real Wedding is the beautiful celebration of Megan and Tommy, held at PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn in Lake Tahoe, CA. Two feet of snow had fallen the weekend before the wedding, making for a beautiful winter backdrop. The couple spends every weekend possible in Lake Tahoe together in the winter so the location was the perfect place for their wedding celebration.

The wedding ceremony was a quick 25 minutes outdoor setting, with classic Christmas tunes playing in the background. They served their guests hot chocolate, coffee and tea along with hand warmers and shawls to keep them warm. Unique touches like cones full of biodegradable snow was placed on all the aisle seats to throw at the end of the ceremony which made it very fun and playful for their guests. To keep warm the bridesmaids wore Uggs and Sorel boots under their long gowns.

Real Weddings: Christina and Anthony

Today’s Real Wedding features the elegant wedding of Christina, and Anthony, which took place at the beautiful Princeton University Chapel on Princeton University’s campus, followed by a reception at The Merion in New Jersey.

Bridesmaids shined in a dark aubergine chiffon Amsale creation while the bride went with a classic Lazaro ivory gown with beading of pearl and crystal, a long cathedral veil and a crystal headband. The men were also classic in black tuxedos with the groom sporting a white tie.

The tables were named after places in New York City that were special to the bride and groom…Central Park Zoo where Anthony proposed, Stans where the couple celebrated many Yankee wins and other special locations to the couple and some of their friends and family members.

The flowers were simple but lush in lavender, pale green and white and downplayed the deep aubergine and chartreuse. With peonies, hydrangea, and roses the high centerpieces drew guests eyes up to the skylight at the reception venue.
