Rustic DIY Wedding In the Summer Countryside

Today, we are so thrilled to be sharing this rustic DIY wedding along the Oregon countryside. Danielle and Jeff did almost everything themselves for the big day! The only vendors used were the photographer, and Mount Pisgah Arboretum as the venue.

Absolutely everything was a DIY project, including the amazing succulent bouquets, rustic decor, and guest sign in “book”. This summer wedding was filled with lots of laughter and sunshine. We can’t take our eyes off of her champagne wedding dress, and the amazing golden fields. The lavender and maroon wedding colors are perfect for this time of year.

Traditional Purple Wedding with a Modern Twist

Today, we are so excited to be sharing this charming historic wedding in Georgia! Brian and Natalie rented out The Venetian Room near downtown Atlanta, and had this early 1900s venue decked out in beautiful violet hues. If you enjoy the finer things in life, you swoon over this purple wedding theme.

Their special day was both classic and modern. From the elegant marble to the chandeliers, the entire space leaves guests breathless. We are swooning over the pink and purple flower bouquets and the array of deep purple, and soft lavender, bridesmaids dresses. The sophisticated white Calla Lily centerpieces on the reception tables made quite a statement, as did the tiny candles scattered about the crystal vases. What was the real icing on the cake for us? We got a huge kick out of Natalie and Brian’s swirled chocolate and vanilla cake. Who doesn’t love getting the best of both worlds on their special day?

Purple Wedding Theme Ideas

Get ready to swoon over this royal and romantic wedding theme. No matter the season, no matter the venue, a purple wedding theme is timeless and versatile. Go with plum and mauve for a winter or fall wedding; use blush and lavender for a spring or summer wedding. Or, use them all together like in today’s purple inspiration board!

We especially love how the lavender plays a double role in this theme: flower and color. Fabric colors, flower arrangements and decor, and drinks and desserts—lavender can be infused everywhere for an irresistible purple wedding theme. There is something so organic about these colors in a wedding.

This purple wedding invitation perfectly matches a rustic, purple wedding theme. With so many colors and fonts to choose from, you can pick a favorite invitation design and customize it to fit your style and colors.

Let’s look at how purple details transform this theme into something special:

Bridesmaids
For a unique look, dress your bridesmaids with different colored gowns in the same style. Find a designer that offers a variety of hues in your color scheme. These lightweight bridesmaid dresses by Jenny Yoo are romantic and can be worn 15 different ways.

Lavender Cocktails
Use lavender to make special cocktails that gives them a subtle hint of lavender, as well as a wonderful aroma. Add any flower from your theme to Champagne and instantly turn them into stylish drinks.

Bouquet
For a rustic theme, wedding bouquets look best with loose arrangements filled with different textures. Use lush pionese, roses or garden roses, then add in texture with sprigs of Lavender, Scabiosa, Larkspur and Misty Blue.

Tablescape
Make your reception table eye-catching with rustic table runners arranged with flowers and candles. For a dramatic look, place pillar candles in a variety of heights down the center of your tables. Choose a pop color for your candles and then fill in the space with beautiful flowers and votives.

Velvet Chair
Living room furniture doesn’t need to stay indoors. Bring cushioned furniture outside and create a welcoming “sitting room” among the garden. It’s a great way to utilize space and it encourages guests to linger and socialize. We love this vintage, pale lilac chair—it offers so much personality to a wedding venue.

Macaroons
End the night with something sweet that guests will love. Dessert bars have proven to be very popular right now, especially in fun flavors like lavender. Set out an assortment of flavors and these purple macaroons are sure to be devoured by the end of the night—big compliments to the planner.

Lavender Jars
Spread jars of flowers around your venue to create your stylish look—a simple way to dress up your entire venue. Collect glass jars or vintage vases and fill them with lavender for a pretty look that’s an easy DIY.

Chairs
Make your sweetheart table extra sweet with purple chair decor. During the reception, you (the newlyweds) deserve something extra stylish. Drape purple tulle fabric on the chairs and add signs or flowers to showcase the “stars of the show”.

If you’re looking for a romantic wedding theme, make it in hues of purple. From dark shades of plum to pale hues in lavender and lilac, it doesn’t take much to make your day beautifully colorful with decor, bridesmaid dresses and desserts. Enjoy planing and styling your wedding true to the two of you!

A Chic Purple Winter Wedding

We are overjoyed to be showcasing this adorable, vintage wedding with you all.

Melissa and Mike held their December wedding at The Mansion At Valley Country Club, in Baltimore Maryland. This mansion was built in the 1800s, and has since been renovated when former NFL star, Art Donovan, purchased the property. This venue offers gorgeous fireplaces, elegant chandeliers, a grand Victorian staircase, stunning oil paintings, a sport’s bar, and even an old cocktail room. What more could newlyweds ask for?

This winter wedding has beautiful, deep purple hues paired with soft shades of grey. Their special day is traditional and oh so elegant. We are swooning over all of the twinkly lights and dangling chandeliers. But we especially love the fun modern twist, near the end of their wedding!

Romantic Candle Lit Wedding

Today, this elegant wedding is sweeping us off our feet! Anthony and Carmin are young lovebirds who met during high school!

They recently had their special day at the Cork Factory, in Lancaster Pennsylvania. This venue is lavish, yet intimate. We are having a hard time taking our eyes off its 19th-century brick walls and that stunning vaulted, wood ceiling. It’s the ultimate blend of rustic and modern. Cork Factory was made for a candle lit wedding, and perfect for those of you dreaming of tieing the knot during the fall or winter months.

Their big day was filled with gorgeous flowers ranging from deep purples, to soft blue hues. Carmin’s wedding dress was made with delicate, small diamonds embroidered along her sweetheart neckline.  The groomsmen wore stylish grey tuxedos, to complement the rest of the elegant wedding decor. And to top it all off, every wedding guest dressed to the nines. Carmin and Anthony’s formal black-tie wedding is wonderfully romantic!

Featured Invitation: Luscious Lacing

A classic lace-inspired invitation gets a fresh update in deep purple. Rich and royal, it preps the guest for an affair to remember. The lace design extends to the back of card for a beautiful detail.

Bouquet
A jewel-tone hue like purple makes a bold statement against a white bridal gown. Mix roses and lilies to create this vibrant flower bouquet. Mix and match shades to create contrast.

Bridesmaids
An ombre palette of lavender, orchid and grape wine look elegant in floor-length bridesmaid dresses. Mismatched gowns are such a trend, and make a dramatic entrance in this spirited hue.

Cake
Clusters of roses take the cake on this tiered wedding cake. The wedding cake is simple and minimal in its design so it serves as the perfect backdrop to a beautiful cluster of purple roses and orchids.

Centerpiece
Nothing says lavish more than romantic lighting at a wedding reception. Dress up your tablescape with hurricane candle holders, mercury glass votives, and decadent purple candles.

Shoes
Radiant orchid is so luxe in satin pumps. Pretty bows add a flirty touch. These add the perfect pop of color as the bride walks down the aisle or grooves on the dance floor.

Love makes us rich and so does this royal, radiant hue of the season. Purple is the color of kings and queens and in our case, brides and grooms. Don’t be afraid to go bold and dress up your ceremony and reception with gorgeous shades in a purple palette.
