In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Jennifer at Hostess with the Mostess published some gorgeous pink drinks. They were so pretty that I couldn’t resist sharing. If pink is part of your color palette for your event, consider adding one of these pretty cocktails as a signature drink:

As all of our tech-savvy users know, we’ve been running a “Question of the Day” on Twitter (follow us at WeddingPaprDiva). We recently polled our users on their wedding colors for some inspiration, and one of the responses we got was pink and black.

The many shades of pink available to brides will let each girl make this color scheme her own. Today, I’ve chosen hot pink–the shock of color on a black backdrop is so stunning, your wedding will surely not be forgotten. A close friend of mine used these colors for her wedding and I still remember the way the gorgeous bouquets looked against our black bridesmaid dresses, both in real life and in photos!

Spring took a deep breath in Northern California today, blowing away the rain that has been taunting us and welcoming sunny skies and warm temperatures. The cheerful flowers that greeted me outside of my house this morning only stood to enhance the spring fever that I’m sure everyone is feeling. Vibrant fuchsia blooms highlighted by light green stems stuck in my mind all day, and I just had to share it with the world!

It may seem cheesy to have a Valentine’s Day themed wedding, but with the holiday falling on a Saturday this year, there are bound to be countless weddings with just that. The look and feel of a Valentine’s Day wedding can be sophisticated, alluring and all-out romantic if it is done well. Here’s my take:

From Paper to Party!

When I got married, I am pretty sure I had one of the best maid of honors ever. Not only was she a great friend, but also an amazing party planner with keen attention to detail.

A few weeks ago, my MOH and I threw her brother an engagement party. After perusing the Wedding Paper Divas website, we chose the Zebra Stripes Bachelorette Party Invitation, but had it personalized to fit an Engagement party.

Taking the color and design from this invitation, my friend developed the entire theme of the party, carrying the small details through to the centerpieces, decorations, desserts and more. She managed to transform not only her living room but her garage into a festive, zebra-print atmosphere!

The zebra lanterns above were a great find at World Market and can be purchased online. The centerpieces were handmade by us and came out so chic!

The bride-to-be even got in on the action with her gorgeous zebra-print heels!

Getting Inspiration from Movies

I’m sure we all fell in love with movies like “My Bestfriend’s Wedding,” “wishing and hoping and praying” that while our wedding day won’t be such a disaster, our bridesmaids and we would one day look as beautiful as Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz. If you haven’t seen this one or other wedding movies listed here, I’d say do some research. It’ll give you ideas, help you get inspired and have fun while doing it!

Who could forget that lavender dress that Julia Roberts wore as the Maid of Honor? Kimberly Wallace played by Cameron Diaz’s character definitely had an elegant wedding. Sweet Pink and Chocolate Brown

In a previous post, I matched pink with black for a look that is modern and contemporary. Pink which as always been popular in weddings can also be mixed with other colors to significantly alter the mood and style of your wedding. Adding orange with pink, for example creates a bold, lively look while matched with brown tones down pink’s sweetness and brings a tinge of formality. Being less formal than black, chocolate adds a lot of fun with paired with a pink hue. Here’s another idea board for those of you who love this color combo.
