Link Love: Wedding Websites

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

You’ve gathered together your guest list, picked the date and time and word of your impending nuptials has begun to spread.  Suddenly, the questions are pouring in.  What is the dress code? How did you meet?  What will you be serving?  Where are you registered?

Instead of handling all of these requests one by one, why not obtain your very own, personalized wedding website to share with your guests?  Most sites allow you to add photos, music, your own theme, and even offer a guest book for people to sign.  To help you find the perfect placement, we’ve compiled a list of the best sites offer wedding websites.

-Nearlyweds! offers a variety of templates and a unique website address, all for only $49 for two years.  You can try the site free for two weeks with no risk.  Best of all, choose from a variety of Wedding Paper Divas templates to match your invitations!

-Wedding Wire offers their own variety of wedding website, and best of all, they’re free!  With an Online RSVP tool, unlimited number of pages and up to 200MB of storage, you can’t go wrong.

-MyWedding.com offers all of the features you’re looking for, also for free!  As an added bonus, you’ll find Wedding Paper Divas templates with matching invitations offered through their site.  Enjoy a guest book, a unique online registry through Wishpot, Online RSVP and more.

-For only $70 a year, WedORama offers extravagent Flash websites with your own www.com address.  With the ability to have a professional looking site including video, music, interactive quizzes, a wedding day countdown and more, you get a ton of cool features for your money!

-eWedding.com also offers free websites that have been featured on ABC, CBS, The Wall Street Journal and more.  Get all your basic tools plus beautiful templates and unlimited support and photos.

Regardless of which wedding website you choose, your guests will be thrilled to have a one stop shop for all your wedding information.  Have fun with your site and make it a unique place to showcase all of your wedding info!

Every soon-to-be-married couple quickly learns that all the hype is true–weddings really ARE as expensive as people say they are.  If you’re a savvy bride, you’ve already begun looking for ways to cut the cost of your wedding day and any activities leading up to it.  To help you out, Diva Dialogue has collected the best bargains online in to one money-saving post!

-Wine.Woot (a division of Woot.com) is a great place to find deals if you are looking for a special bottle of wine to celebrate your engagement.  Each day, Wine.woot will feature one quality wine at a bargain price.  Once it’s gone, it’s gone, so make sure you jump on it!

-I will never buy shoes in a store again.  Both Endless.com Bridal and Zappos.com Bridal offer free overnight shipping and returns on a massive selection of shoes, so you are risk free and you get great discount pricing!

More Facebook Fun

As Diva Dialogue blogger Katie mentioned last week in her post “Build Your Own Wedding Network on Facebook“, social networking tools have opened up a new world for many in the wedding planning process.  In addition to joining any of the numerous groups available on Facebook, you can also download a wedding planning Application to both assist you in your planning and spread the news to others.

My favorite App thus far has to be Weddingbook by WedSnap.  This widely-used App not only lets you add the names and photos of your entire bridal party, it also features a countdown clock, profile and info page, and a constant feed to the Weddingbook message boards, where you can ask for and offer advice and tips.  Anyone in your network can view your Weddingbook profile or write in your guestbook.

As social networking continues to evolve and gain in popularity, which tools and websites do you find most useful in your wedding planning process?
