My husband was involved in most parts of my wedding planning and didn’t ask for too many specifics. He only had a few requests. First, he asked that my dress be all white (no hints of color). Next, he wanted to be involved in selecting the reception venue and the food tasting (of course!). Last, he wanted to be aware of all the wedding related costs. Considering all the elements involved in a wedding, I felt that his requests were reasonable and was excited that he even had some interest!
Some of my friends, on the other hand, have not been so lucky. One friend in particular is currently plagued by an uncompromising fiance who has a very clear and precise vision for his wedding. There are plenty of television shows, magazine articles and guide books for surviving a bridezilla, but I have always wondered what is the best way to handle a groomzilla without wounding his pride?
Enter Instyle Wedding’s Style School blog. In today’s post, Rachel Jacoby highlighted a perfect guidebook to handle such a situation — Surviving Groomzilla: A Bride’s Guide. With chapter titles such as “Groomzilla Eats the Wedding Vendors” and “Groomzilla Gets the Guests,” I am intrigued and it seems to be a fun and (hopefully) useful read. And, you can bet that this will be a shower gift for my friend in need!
