Bride’s Diary: I Said “Yes” to the Dress!

Wedding Paper Divas is bursting with staff grooms and brides-to-be who are currently planning their weddings. We’re happy to share their stories with you as a part of this fun feature!

The dress has been one of the final outstanding items on my checklist. After going to multiple stores, a few online purchases (yes, it’s worth a try!) and many hours of looking for inspiration… I said “yes” to the dress! Not only was it the first dress I ever tried on, but I found it online at a wedding boutique that was closing and offering a perfect condition sample in my size—at 40% off! Yes, you heard right. When I saw that, I knew it was meant to be. To make matters even better? It arrived last night and fits practically perfect. With my shoes, I don’t even need to have it hemmed. How is that for good luck?

While I can’t show you the dress (c’mon gotta keep some things a surprise, right?), I can tell you it’s designed by Ivy and Aster—one of my favorite boutique wedding dress brands.

In other not-so-fortunate news, we have decided to change our honeymoon location. We had planned to go to Greece and Turkey, but due to the unstable economy, we didn’t want to take a chance. Now we are brainstorming new places to go. So many options makes it that much harder to pull the trigger. Any ideas? We are all ears.

Meet Jessica

Jessica and Dan met nearly 7 years ago on Myspace. (Remember Myspace?) It took weeks of contemplation until they decided to finally meet… and I guess you could say the rest was history. After discovering their mutual shoe addiction, surviving countless Thanksgiving family meals together and three apartment/house moves later—they are officially ready to tie the knot.

Jessica and Dan are getting married May 27, 2012 at Malibou Lake Mountain Club in Los Angeles.
