It has been quite a week! Some of our team spent Monday in New York meeting with editors from Brides magazine and attending a few of the fall Bridal Fashion Week events including the 11th annual Martha Stewart Weddings Bridal Market party and The Knot’s annual Gala.
Martha’s white-themed bash was a sight to behold. The event was held in an enormous space at the Martha Stuart Living Omnimedia headquarters in New York, where the expansive tulle-draped ceiling was magnificently lit in fuchsia. The room was lined with some hand-picked wedding vendors including a number of bakers and caterers, makeup touch-ups, OPI manicures, a brow bar, a DJ booth made entirely of ice and a few different photo booth stations. There was even a tattoo station, where you could be branded a Martha Stewart Weddings fan with a temporary tattoo from Tattly.
The place was packed and the guest list impressive. Martha Stewart herself made an appearance, not only addressing the crowd but acting as the officiant for the 26th wedding of nuptial junkies Alex Pelling and Lisa Gant, the British couple who is traveling the globe to experience as many cultures and wedding traditions as possible before officially tying the knot. Steve Tyrell was on hand to croon their first song immediately following the brief ceremony.
Throughout the evening, our team was lucky enough to run into a number of our favorite bridal editors from Martha Stewart Weddings and The Knot as well as our old friends at East Six (Wedding Paper Divas designer) and Tracy Taylor Ward. Other sightings included wedding legends Colin Cowie, Mindy Weiss, Sylvia Weinstock, Preston Bailey and Marcy Blum, as well as a number of impressive bridal designers.
The Knot Industry Gala was next on the agenda, which was held at the New York Public Library. A red carpet welcomed guests before they stepped into the grand, historic venue, which was lit in teal and purple tones and was filled with the music of three different hot bands.
It was an incredible night filled with stunning details and some of the most iconic industry luminaries and we are all so glad that Wedding Paper Divas was able to participate!
