The Knot recently released a slideshow of seven top wedding cake trends to look for in the coming wedding season, and we were happy to see that many of the trends perfectly matched up with our favorite wedding stationery trends as well. A Bit of Black

I was happily surprised when I ran into one of Diva Dialogue’s readers the other day. Planning her own wedding, she was having some trouble deciding a color theme. With a preference for black, she asked me how to incorporate this palette into her wedding. Here’s my take on this dramatic, chic and formal hue.

Details are so important in creating a beautiful, memorable wedding. I think adding unique touches not only look great, but also make guests feel special. Here are a few relatively inexpensive and thoughtful ways to really make your wedding stand out.

Burst of Orange

I know I’ve written about orange before but it is the color of the season. And this wedding season, it’s making an appearance in everything from the flowers to the bridesmaids dresses. Orange is even making a splash in the fashion industry coloring up one of my favorite stores, Anthropologie this season. Yesterday I posted pictures from a vibrant orange and stunningly blue themed wedding. What I didn’t tell you was all the extras they included that really made their wedding stand out. The couple incorporated several surprises in the night that was a big hit with guests. One thing they did was rent a photo booth. A popular trend at weddings these days, guests practically ran over one another to get their pictures taken. I went to another wedding this past weekend and it really showed me how color can bring energy to an event. The bride chose deep blue with vibrant orange to create a bold, modern look.
