From macaroon towers to a giant rice krispie treat cake, there are many creative options and variations. Are you a fan of these unique dessert ideas or would you rather have a true wedding cake?

Martha Stewart Wedding Cupcakes

One of our staffers forwarded me this adorable slideshow of scrumptious little wedding cupcakes from none other than the queen of domestic divas herself—Martha Stewart.

Once again, Martha doesn’t fail to leave us googly-eyed with her beautiful treats. I love how fresh and light everything looks! Coconut cupcakes are my personal favorite, and I’ve always thought they would make a great accent to a winter wedding, but these lovely little desserts are definitely contenders in my book. What do you think?

All of these desserts were created by artist Pattie Stevenson for her The Cardboard Kitchen collection. A self-professed foodie, Stevenson has a vast array of food-based art on her website, Art on the Menu. She even has a blog that features real recipes and cooking tips! Sweet Pink and Chocolate Brown

In a previous post, I matched pink with black for a look that is modern and contemporary. Pink which as always been popular in weddings can also be mixed with other colors to significantly alter the mood and style of your wedding. Adding orange with pink, for example creates a bold, lively look while matched with brown tones down pink’s sweetness and brings a tinge of formality. Being less formal than black, chocolate adds a lot of fun with paired with a pink hue. Here’s another idea board for those of you who love this color combo. The picture on the left is my wedding site dressed in pink lighting.
