When it comes to everyday fashion, I’m a huge fan of understated elegance. But when it comes to your wedding day, a little bit of pizzazz is called for. That’s why I love bridal couture—with it’s bold shapes, fanciful charm and divine details, it’s hard not to feel inspired by such gorgeous gowns!

I love how these Colleen Quen gowns use a blend of classic silhouettes with details that grab your attention without upstaging the bride.

Planning the perfect bridal shower can often be a challenge for a hostess who may be overcome by the thought that the event will inevitably be boring.  Well, two of our colleagues have proved that that’s not always the case. We recently spotted this fun 80s themed bridal shower on their blog Jolie Jolie and just had to share it with our readers.

As you will see the event represents the eighties in every way from the color scheme to the food and favors to even the guests’ outfits! It looks like every guest had a lot of fun at this event, which included an impromtu eighties exercise class followed by a night on the town in their costumes.

Now, that’s one way to throw a fun bridal shower!
