DIY Wreath for Fall

Goodbye summer, hello fall! Autumn is nearly here, and if you’re hosting a shower or get-together in the coming months, we’ve got the perfect decor idea to get your home ready for some festive entertaining. You’re going to love this ultra chic, ultra easy DIY wreath—and we promise, it’s easier than it appears.

What You’ll Need

  • Foam ring (we went with a medium size)
  • One ball of yarn
  • Festive fall embellishments
  • Glue gun

Step 1: Wrap It Up

This part is easy, but time consuming. Start by tying a small knot around the ring with your yarn. Then, settle in, because you’ll be wrapping for a bit. Wrap tightly so the ring doesn’t show through… and continue until the entire ring is covered. Once you’re at the end, tie another knot, cut it loose and tuck in the excess yarn.

Step 2: Gather Your Embellishments

Leaves, fruit, pine cones… you can adorn your wreath with whatever you see fit. We found this fun foliage at our local craft store and picked the pine cones from our office parking lot!

Step 3: Create Your Arrangement and Get Gluing

Like arranging flowers, start with a base for your embellishments and build your way out. It may be helpful to lay out your arrangement before you begin to glue, so you’re sure to have the right balance of colors and textures. Then, use your glue gun to secure everything to the wreath. Tip: try to avoid gluing all parts of the embellishment down to the wreath so you keep some depth to your design.

Step 4: Enjoy!

Dig out your holiday wreath hook a little early and enjoy your beautiful new fall decor!

If you try this craft idea yourself, or if you have any DIY ideas to share, send your photos to and we’ll post them for all of our fans and followers.
