Sports Themed Weddings: Rant or Rave

For many couples, the arrival of fall also means the arrival of NFL football season. If you and yours love to cheer on the same team (or love to hate each other’s home team), you may be thinking about incorporating sporty details into your wedding. But for some brides-to-be, vows and touchdowns simply don’t marry.

What do you think about mixing formal attire with professional sports? Could you see your groomsmen walking down the aisle in these NFL team shoes? Do professional sports themes at weddings make you want to rant or rave?

Coming from a sports town I have seen sports themed weddings often. Love the idea and think it is actually quite memorable. If it makes the couple happy and it is a passion they share, then it makes sense to share it on the most memorable and happy day of their lives.

I think a sports themed wedding is a great way to make your special day unique and I applaud those that are willing to try something a little less traditional and a whole lot more fun. My husband and I had a sports themed wedding with custom wedding invitations that looked like gameday tickets (sportsthemedweddings.com) and a white jersey that served as a guest book for the day. Our families still talk about it til this day. Everyone had an awsome time!
