This week’s Real Wedding is the beautiful celebration of Katie and Billy, held at a private residence on Lake Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro, NH. The bride is a daughter of a florist and she wanted to find a place they could bring their own creativity to and create a laid-back, relaxing atmosphere. They spend each summer at the lake, so it was fitting to have the ceremony in a place they both love.
It turned out to be quite the undertaking. After a full week of pouring rain, and a 911 call for an unresponsive groom resulting in 7 stitches, the wedding stress settled in. The bride had her hair done the morning of the wedding while looking out the window at the grey sky and swaying trees and feared another storm was on its way. About 30 minutes before the ceremony the sky turned sunny, the clouds diminished and they were able to have the ceremony outside of the tent where she had dreamed of. It didn’t start raining again until 10:00…right as the night ended.
