If you’re in the midst of planning a wedding, you know that Saturday is the most expensive day of the week for your ceremony and reception, followed by Sunday, Friday and then the rest of the days of the week.
Everyone knows you can save money by having your wedding on an off-day, but would you ever consider a mid-week wedding?
What are the pros and cons of a weekday wedding? Have you ever been invited to one or hosted one yourself? Do weekday weddings make you want to rant or rave?

Whether or not attendance is lessened by the day of the week really depends on the guests that are invited and whether quality or quantity is more important to the couple. First, if the majority of the guests are local and do not have children they are more likely to attend a week night event. Couples with children and especially single moms will likely find a weeknight event challenging. Also, the “important people in the couples life are likely to do whatever is needed to attend no matter what day or time it is. Others without a strong tie to the couple may or may not attend (which is where the quality vs. quantity comes in.
I’ve been invited to a couple, and I haven’t invited either. The most recent was just too far to travel for a wedding, but it’s good I didn’t. On the save the date, there was no indication it was a weekday! Had I planned to go, I would have arrived a day late. Sure, it’s my fault for not noticing on a calendar, but it certainly needs to be something that’s noted straight away. Like the example you have above.
