Post-Wedding Tips: Confessions of a Bridesmaid

The Wedding Paper Divas headquarters is bustling with bridesmaids helping their friends, siblings and sorority sisters plan their weddings. These are their confessions…

My (now married!) Bride,

Your wedding was a beautiful success! Your bridesmaids looked great (if I do say so, myself), your groom was stunning and you, my dear, were a showstopper. Now that the stresses of planning are over and you’re happily married, I thought I’d share some day-of learnings for future brides and bridesmaids…

1. If there is a bridesmaid wardrobe malfunction minutes before you walk down the aisle, DO. NOT. PANIC. Doing so will only stress out the bride, and that’s the last thing you want. Fix it to the best of your ability, and walk down that aisle with confidence and composure.

2. If your ceremony is in a church (especially in the summertime) make sure to have water and a fanning device on hand. Nothing will put a snafu in the ceremony like a bride on the verge of passing out.

3. Smile! Your face will probably hurt by the end of the day, but your bride will thank you later for it.

4. Relax, and go with the flow. The flower girl might start running the wrong way. Your updo might fall out a little. You might sweat through your bridesmaid dress a little. Remain calm and remember that this is a celebration—and your bride should always be the center of attention!
