Photo Tree: Celebrate the Past, Present, and Future

Jenna from Inspired Healthy Organized shares her adorable photo tree that would add a unique and personal touch for a centerpiece at your engagement party, bridal shower, or wedding reception.

ideas to incorporate photos into your wedding day

An important part of any milestone involves reflecting on where you started and reveling in how far you’ve come. Whether it’s getting married, having a baby or a birthday, or graduating, celebrate your past, your present, and your future. One of my favorite ways to incorporate the past and present into a party is by adding a photo tree.

Creating a photo tree is an easy and inexpensive decoration for a party; even better, it doubles as a conversation piece! I’ve used this idea at several parties and guests always enjoy it. Everyone loves seeing the pictures, and it’s fun to share some of your favorite memories of the bride and groom. It’s such a nice, personal touch to add to the party; simply place it on a table or in the center of a buffet for maximum impact.

Fill a large vase or container with curly willow or other large branches found at craft and home decorating stores. You can also add fresh flowering cherry blossoms, available seasonally at florists or specialty grocery stores. Fresh blossoms create a memorable impact but are more expensive and delicate, and cannot be reused. If using a glass or clear vase, add a vase filler such as corks or sand, if desired.

Collect photos of the bride and groom at various ages from birth to present and back with scrapbook paper that ties into the shower or wedding theme. Punch a hole at the top of each photo, and tie them on to the tree with coordinating ribbon. Add Wedding Paper Divas favor tags (like the Lovingly Scripted ones pictured here) to match the shower or wedding theme using the same method.

You can also make inexpensive, personalized coasters to match. Just grab some circle cork coasters and Mod Podge from a craft store. On one side, add a Wedding Paper Divas favor tag; on the opposite side, a picture of the couple. Adhere them to the cork coasters, then add several layers of Mod Podge to seal (there are more detailed tutorials available online).

Not only is a photo tree fun for a bridal shower, couple’s shower, or engagement party, it can also be a nice accent for a family reunion or anniversary celebration. Equally perfect as a decoration for graduation, baby showers, or birthdays! Thanks to Wedding Paper Divas for letting me share!

I love these photo trees! I’d love to see something like this at a wedding. My cousins wedding had something similar in the foyer of the wedding venue and it worked out really well!
