Fall in Love with Dark Romance

November 23, 2009 @ 10:43:40 am by Katie

With Twilight mania sweeping the country, people seem to be fixated on the idea of a dark and dreamy look for their upcoming weddings. Although I’m not an outright vampire fanatic, I have to admit that there’s something deep and luxurious about dark romance as a wedding theme.

As proof that vampire-esque drama makes for a stunning ceremony, I absolutely love the blend of black and deep red in this Twilight-inspired wedding from The Wedding Chicks:

I particularly love the idea of hanging chandeliers in an outdoor space. Here are some luxe wedding invitations to match:

One of the first “dark” themed weddings I ever saw was the Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler Wedding as seen on the MTV show “Meet the Barkers”. I thought that the theme was well carried out for their event and at the time it struck me as very original.

Also, it was the first time I had ever seen a Monique Lhuillier dress, and as she is a Filipino-American gown designer, I was wowed.

I’m sure we will only see more of this theme!
