While our personalized wedding invitation designs offer plenty of options for customization, many brides choose to go above and beyond, adding DIY elements to their wedding invitations.
Since we’re heading into the winter wedding season, we put together a snow inspired twist on the traditional invitation. Simple but stunning, this easy DIY adds a ton of personality to your wedding invitation.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Wedding invitations
- Thick ribbon
- Thin ribbon
- Plastic snowflakes
- Glue or adhesive
- Match a thick ribbon to your wedding invitation. Wrap the ribbon around the invitation and cut, leaving a bit of overlap. Secure with glue or double sided tape on the back of the invitation. We suggest that you do not attach the ribbon to the invitation, but instead to itself.
- Turn the invitation back over to the front. Take the thin ribbon and tie a knot around the middle of the thick ribbon. It should slightly pinch the thick ribbon.
- Take the plastic snowflake and tie another knot with the thin ribbon to attach the snowflake to the ribbons. Depending on your snowflakes, you may need to secure it with a small bit of string.
- Complete the invitation by tying the thin ribbon into a pretty bow.
Remember to keep the extra materials in mind when choosing an envelope! This DIY project would be perfect to tuck inside a pocket fold.
