If you’re looking for an easy (and inexpensive) way to make a cake stand, we have the project for you. This simple wood stand is perfect for a rustic themed wedding and only requires four materials.
Supplies
- Round piece of wood. We used a wood paver from Home Depot.
- Fabric doilies or any fabric that has a open weaved design (like lace)
- Spray paint. We’re especially fond of metallic.
- Wood stain
Step 1: Arrange and Spray
Arrange the doilies on the piece of wood and spray the surface with the spray paint.
Step 2: Remove and Wait
Next, take the doilies off the wood and wait for the surface to be dry to the touch.
Step 3: Stain and Go
Use a rag or foam brush to spread the stain evenly over the surface of the spray painted wood. This will give the wood a more blended and subtle affect.
And, there you go! Ready to make your cake the center of attention?
