Since I am an avid rock climber, a friend of mine forwarded me a link to buy this mountaineering cake topper from eBay. I think it’s fun, but I’m not sure I would want it on top of a rich, satiny, stylish wedding cake. What do you think about these unique cake toppers? Rant or rave about them!

I think crazy cake toppers can be fun if they tie in with the theme of the wedding or represent a common bond or something that brought the couple together (ie rockclimbing). However, I think cake toppers like the Simpsons or a bride dragging off the groom fail to convey the love and respect that should be displayed at a wedding.

i love the idea. i think crazy cake toppers are fun and can show off the personalities of the bride and groom. my wife would TOTALLY DISAGREE though and say that they aren’t traditional and shouldn’t be used. it’s your day, shouldn’t you be able to have everything your way and not be traditional?

hahahaha! the bride dragging the groom off is soo funny. but yeah, i agree with jkruger, it’s definitely not very respectful and can actually be an awkward display because the groom’s family members might not enjoy this image of their “whipped” groom.
the other ones are fun…but personally i’d want to stick with something modern but at the same time traditional. after all, you want ppl to remember YOU, not your cake!

I think anything that sets your wedding apart from some of the cookie cutter weddings I have been to is fabulous. Besides, in my opinion there’s nothing cuter than a couple that can laugh together. And anyone who puts one of these toppers on their wedding cake is definitely doing it for a laugh

Very very cool, it’s about time someone tried something different for their wedding! You only get married once (hopefully), you should make a statement about who you are versus doing what The Knot says…

I don’t think they are very classy…
