“New Moon,” the latest Twilight movie, hits theaters at midnight tonight, and we know plenty of Wedding Paper Divas staffers who are flocking to the theaters to drool over their favorite vampires and werewolves!

I haven’t read the Twilight series, but I do know that dark vintage romance is going to be a hot trend for 2010 weddings, so I love looking at photos of the characters’ smoky, sultry vampire style. Any Twilight-loving brides-to-be are sure to adore this spread from InStyle that features top designers’ sketches for Bella’s wedding dress in an upcoming film.

Flashback to Film: The Perks of Film Photography

Digital cameras might be all the rage, but that doesn’t mean film is dead just yet. There are a ton of artistic photographers who are dedicated to giving film a comeback, and the results of their work are truly dazzling.

Many of you may have noticed how Dan & Julie’s Real Wedding was full of unique photos, bright colors and interesting shots—that’s right! It was all shot on high quality film, printed and then scanned in to create digital prints.

You Look Nice Today Photography is a big proponent of film photos. I know it might be scary not to have the benefit of instant digital feedback, but it might be worth a try if you want truly unique photos with a fresh, artistic flair. I came across this unique peacock wedding cake on San Francisco Style Unveiled, and it got me thinking about how gorgeous peacock feathers are and how lovely they can be as wedding inspiration.

Whether you use actual feathers as centerpieces or cake decor, or you simply borrow the bold colors of the peacock for your celebration, I love the idea of incorporating this elegant theme into your wedding.

Fun Ways for Grooms to Spend the Big Day

Many grooms choose to head out for a round of golf with their groomsmen and male relatives on the morning of the big day, but that doesn’t mean golf is the only activity available to the groom and his buddies. Here are a few other ideas that will make the day even more memorable:

Play a sport. From touch football to soccer, softball and tennis, there are plenty of team sports that are guaranteed to be a good time. Just make sure to plan ahead so that everyone comes prepared (and don’t let the groom get tackled!).
Get into games. Host a video game marathon or challenge the groomsmen to bowling, billiards or poker for a little friendly competition.
Book a massage. What better way to help everyone look relaxed and glowing than with an hour-long pre-wedding massage?
Be adventurous. Check out a local rock climbing gym or race go karts together. Trying something new is a great way to have a blast before the wedding!

We know some men won’t be too excited about their grooming options, but a man who takes care of his skin and hair before the wedding gets a thumbs up in our book! We encourage you to talk to your guy about making an appointment at a spa or dermatologist before the wedding to consider his skincare options.

Fall is now in full swing, and that means it’s time to switch from light summery drinks to full-bodied cocktails that are perfect for this enchanting time of year. Whether sweetened with maple, honey or the heartwarming taste of pumpkin pie, these drinks are the ideal complement to all of your autumn celebrations.

Zinger Martini from BlissTree

Zinger Martini

½ part Bärenjäger honey liqueur
2 parts lemon flavored vodka
Splash of orange juice
Squeeze of fresh lemon

Shake with ice and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a lemon.

Maple Cocktails from Coombs Family Farms

Hot Buttered Maple Rum

1 tsp 100% pure organic maple syrup
1 tsp butter
1 stick of cinnamon
2 cloves
Dark rum

Combine ingredients in a mug. Pour in dark rum and stir. Add boiling water and stir again; top with nutmeg and serve.

Pumpkin Pie Martini from BlissTree

Pumpkin Pie-tini

1 oz. milk
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
1 ½ oz. Three-O Vanilla vodka
1 ½ oz. crème de cacao

Using a small amount of honey, rim martini glass with graham cracker crumbs.

Shake milk and pumpkin puree over ice to combine. Pour in remaining ingredients and shake well. Strain into the martini glass.
