A Bride’s Diary: Picking the Perfect Save the Date

Wedding Paper Divas is bursting with staff brides who are currently planning their weddings. We’re happy to share their stories with you as a part of this new feature!

Venue: Check. Dress: Check. Photographer: Check. Save the dates……major mind overload!

Since they are one of the things I have looked forward to the most, I never would have imagined that picking save the dates would be one of the most time consuming parts of the wedding planning process…for me at least.

Maybe it’s because I come to work every day and am surrounded by an amazing assortment of super cute designs. Or maybe it’s because IF I don’t particularly care for any of the uber-chic designs, I can ask one of my insanely creative co-workers to pop open Illustrator and create me a custom piece. It is really starting to seem that maybe there really can be too much of a good thing.

Not only am I pulling my hair out over what design to use, there are also questions like how many pictures do I use? If I use more than one will we look totally into ourselves? Do we want our save the date design to serve as a sneak peek of what guests can expect on the big day? Am I just plain crazy and totally over thinking this?

Probably.

With all that said, here are just a few ideas I am playing with:

With less than five months until the big day, I still have no idea what I am going to do. But here are a few things that I DO know:

  • It’s ok to ask for people’s opinions, but it’s YOUR decision. Go with what you like.
  • DON’T over think it (ironic right?). Too many choices will cloud your mind.
  • Showcase your personality. This is your opportunity to really show who you are as a couple.
  • DON’T STRESS!!! At the end of the day, it will only be hanging on the fridge for a couple of months anyway.

Meet Kari

According to Marvin, he met Kari at a college football game. Kari says the actual story is that they met at a mutual friends house. Wherever the love connection may have taken place, the two ended up becoming best friends and the rest is history. Four years after their meeting (or “meetings”), the two plan to marry on September 25, 2010 in San Ramon, California.

They are all unique and fun Save The Dates, but the “Beautiful Band” Save the Date is unique, simple and beautiful. Understated beauty is always the best in my opinion, but you’re right… at the end of the day it is up to you! Thanks for sharing.
