The Polaroid Picture Trend

9:30:46 by Anum | 1 Comment

The polaroid picture shot is hugely popular in wedding photography and engagement sessions these days. These creative shots always look so sweet and romantic, and have that playful, vintage flair. There are so many spins on the traditional shot and the best part is that the couple can add their own personality to the photo to make it truly unique. Photos in this style taken during an engagement session are perfect to incorporate into a photo save the date card!

Here’s an adorable and slightly humorous take on that idea: an iPhone shot. I think it’s perfect for the unique and techy couple!

Rant or Rave: Wedding Apps

8:03:06 by Jessy | No Comments

There is no argument that smartphones have changed the meaning of “convenience.” From paying bills and perusing facebook to identifying a song playing on the radio, there seems to be an application for literally anything these days—so what about planning your wedding?

For brides and grooms who can’t go anywhere without their smartphones, mobile wedding applications may take some of the stress out of planning. However, even those dependent on their technological counterpart (or the few of you who aren’t) might find these apps futile or unhelpful.

So where do you weigh in—do wedding applications make you want to rant or rave?

Inspiration Board: Bold Blues

If you’re looking for an easy way to achieve a glamorous feeling at your wedding without looking too over the top, do it with rich, bold color! Cobalt blue is the perfect option to really make a modern statement. To keep things interesting, try incorporating a variety of shades of blue from the same color family into every aspect of your wedding, from the invitations and decor to the bridesmaids’ dresses. The result will be totally chic!

A Bride’s Diary: The Look…Decisions, Decisions!

8:45:49 by Contributors | 3 Comments

Wedding Paper Divas is full of staff brides who are currently planning their weddings. We’re happy to share their stories with you as a part of this fun feature!

Your wedding day is your ONE shot to get it exactly right. From the dress, to the hair, to the makeup, to the shoes, everything must be absolutely perfect. While dreaming of your wedding day, so many ideas and visions run through your head. But then reality sinks in. How do you know what perfect is?

While investigating different looks, I have found a lot of fun accessories, beautiful makeup and amazing hairstyles. But how do you know the one you choose is going to be the one you will look back and love forever? You won’t. That is why you need to just stick to the basics and do what feels right to YOU.

Here are a few things I have come to terms with:

  • If you NEVER wear your hair up, odds are you won’t want to wear it up on the most important day of your life. You won’t feel like yourself.
  • If you don’t wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis, don’t go all glamazon on the big day. It will feel unnatural.
  • Just because other girls like to sparkle doesn’t mean you have to. Again, this is the one day that will be perfect for YOU. You don’t have to be covered in sequins and bling because your latest bridal magazines tell you it’s “in”
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY—be yourself!! A super dolled up version of yourself, that is.

As of today (this could change at any moment), here is the look I’m going for:

*Note: I have opted to leave the dress out for fear that my fiancé may actually read this. Hi Marv!!

According to Marvin, he met Kari at a college football game. Kari says the actual story is that they met at a mutual friends house. Wherever the love connection may have taken place, the two ended up becoming best friends and the rest is history. Four years after their meeting (or “meetings”), the two plan to marry on September 25, 2010 in San Ramon, California.

Real Wedding: Megan and Scott

11:42:58 by Anum | 2 Comments

Today’s Real Wedding features the wedding of Megan and Scott, which took place at the Manhattan Penthouse, in New York. It was a destination wedding set over the July 4th holiday weekend.  Megan and Scott put a contemporary touch on the traditional red, white and blue holiday colors for their wedding colors and incorporated the NYC theme in their decor and favors to make this Big Apple wedding celebration one their guests would remember.  Here are some photos from the occasion, taken by Bella Pictures photography.
